Meine Lieblings-LP

I can't believe I've only just discovered The Gun Club. They "tickle my bones" - lo fi rock passionate, more than just a hint of Americana. They sound like a distraught Replacements, it's still intense rock and roll but they definitely don't sound a s if the are having as much fun as that band. I love that album make the Gun Club sound like a Kansas bunch of motherfuckers, whilst they also sound so tuneful. "Calling up thunder", for example, is so melodic. It's always good to hear John Hardy, too. I already love the Billy Childish  + Roy Harvey versions, now I can add this to the collection. I loved this album. I played it just enough to whet my appetite before I had to move on to the next painting. Once this project is over, I can't wait to go back & explore the Gun Club more. Thanks for introducing me to your favourite album. I'm fairly sure I've a few more listens to it becoming one of my favourites too.

(Wenn ich es mir recht überlege, wäre She's like heroin to me eigentlich das ideale Lied, das Art Brut covern könnten.)
